History

From eleven production locations, we focus on the development and manufacture of precast concrete products, steel products and related solutions. We have been successful in the infrastructure, civil engineering, rail, agricultural, residential and commercial construction sectors for many years. We are proud of the fact that we reach the best solutions every time thanks to our specialisms, size and ASCEM, our own concrete technology centre. This means we play an important role within the construction industry in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.

Origin of BTE

What is striking about our business is the specialised companies that are at our disposal. Most of them have a rich history and a wealth of experience. For example, De Meteoor was founded as early as 1903 and De Hamer in 1938. Fine family businesses, which over the years have joined forces to form a strong group of concrete companies.

In 2002, the BTE Group was created when the Readymix precast concrete companies combined their activities. Readymix consisted of Romein Beton B.V., De Hamer Beton B.V., Gelissen Beton B.V., Kemper Beton B.V. and Lodewikus Beton B.V. In the years that followed, various other companies became part of our business. In 2003, this was De Meteoor Beton B.V., in 2004 Stelcon Germany, in 2006 Prefab Beton Vebo B.V. and Vebo Staal B.V., a year later ASCEM and Betonindustrie Monshouwer B.V.

In 2014, BTE was centralised and in 2018, Kemper Beton B.V. and Hermans Beton B.V. merged to become Kemper Beton B.V. The year also saw the merger of De Hamer Beton B.V. and Betonindustrie Monshouwer B.V.. The company continued as De Hamer Beton B.V. Since 2019, Steenhuis Beton B.V. has been part of the BTE Group and in 2022 Hercules Beton B.V. also joined the group.
