CO2-reduction
BTE took a number of different measures in order to act in a CO2-aware manner and thus reduce energy consumption. Energy consumption (fuel, gas, electricity, etc.) is made transparent at a range of production locations and we have drawn up goals to reduce this consumption. These add up to reduce our CO2- emission. For every investment made, we take into account the expected energy consumption. The existing traditional lighting is also structurally replaced with LED lighting. Concrete mixes are designed by ASCEM with resources that have a low CO2-profile, if possible. Blast furnace cement mixes, fillers, etc. play a part in this. The CO2 -footprint has been determined and made transparent for all our locations. The KPIs and goals for the coming years in terms of sustainability are determined in part based on this footprint.
BTE-bedrijf De Hamer is gecertificeerd voor de CO2-Prestatieladder, niveau 3. In de toekomst zullen de overige locaties ook volgens deze systematiek worden ingericht.
